Why is there an authorization charge on my reservation?

When you place a reservation with Green Commuter using your card on file, an authorization hold equal to the cost of the rental reservation period will be placed with your financial institution.  Your card will be charged once you complete the rental and the authorization hold will be removed.  For a short time, it may appear as if your card is being billed twice for your rental, which is not the case.  This situation may lead to your account being defined as "overdrafted" or "overdrawn" if the sum of the hold and charge exceed the funds available in that specific account.  Please check with the financial institution that manages your debit, credit or prepaid debit card for more information on how it handles release of authorization holds in this type of situation.
